Dr. Brian Massey
Originally from Orange County, Dr. Brian Massey brings 23 years of veterinary experience to his role as Medical Director at Surfside Animal Hospital. He earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, graduating from veterinary school in 2003. After spending three years practicing in Sacramento, he made his way to North San Diego County, where he has spent the past 20 years caring for pets and their families.
Dr. Massey enjoys every aspect of general practice, with a special interest in internal medicine, dermatology, and ultrasound. Drawing on his broad experience and sense of humor, he describes himself as a “Brian of all trades, master of none!”
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Massey enjoys spending time with his wife and their blended family of two daughters, two stepsons, two cats, and their beloved black Labrador. He loves hiking, camping, running, and reading. Whether he's exploring the outdoors, finding new adventures with his wife, or simply enjoying some downtime at home, he appreciates a good balance of adventure and relaxation.
Dr. Massey is excited to lead the medical team at Surfside and looks forward to building lasting relationships with our clients and their beloved pets!
